Mains plug This apparatus is fitted with an approved 13 Amp plug. To change a fuse in this type of plug proceed as follows: CAUTION Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure or other unsafe operation. 1 2 3 Remove fuse cover and fuse. If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place. If a plug without a fuse is used, the fuse at the distribution board should not be greater than 5 Amp. [. . . ] { Standard } : A chapter marker will be automatically inserted during recording, the interval will depend on the recording mode selected. 3 Press 1 to confirm. See page 40 "Direct Recording" for more information. Manual recording Use the 'Manual recording' function to start recording immediately (e. g. , to record a TV show already in progress). English 1 Press 4 to select { Direct record } and press 2 to enter its options. 1 Turn on the TV power. Select the correct Video In channel at the TV. 2 Press 2 to select one of the options. { On } : Enable recording directly from the TV display. { Off } : Disable direct record function. 2 Insert a DVD+R(W). If a DVD+RW was inserted that already contains recordings, press 3 4 to select the location where the recording should be started. 3 Press 1 to confirm. Filter mode For long play or extended play recording, you can select a suitable filter mode to optimise the video recording. The setting does not influence high quality or standard play recording mode. 3 Press TUNER on the remote control to see the TV programmes, then press 3 4 to select the programme number you wish to record. G To record from additional device, press button {0} on the remote control and followed by 4 to select the correct input channel that matches the socket to which you connected to the DVD recorder. { CAM 1 } : S-VIDEO or VIDEO and AUDIO L/R sockets at the front { EXT 2 } : EXT 2 AUX-I/O Scart socket at the back { EXT 1 } : EXT 1 TO TV-I/O Scart socket at the back 1 Press 4 to select { Filter } and press 2 to enter its options. 2 Press 2 to select one of the options. { Standard } : Recording quality is as the recording mode selected. Optimise the picture quality in record mode M3~M8. 4 Press RECORD 0 to start recording. 5 For recording from external device, you have to start play on the external device first. Wait until the message disappears before removing the DVD+R(W). English 6 To stop the recording, press STOP 9. Manual recording with automatic turn-off (One Touch Recording) 1 Follow the steps 1~3 of "Manual Recording" on page 38. G If the end of a disc is reached during recording, recording will stop and the DVD recorder will turn off automatically. 2 Press RECORD 0 on the remote control twice to start 30 minutes recording. The recorder will stop recording at the designated end time and turn off automatically. G To delete the recording, press STOP 9 while the display showing the recording time. G To check the remaining recording time while recording in progress, press SYSTEM-MENU. 1 During recording, press PAUSE ;. Pausing a recording You can use this function to avoid recording commercials. 2 To continue recording, press RECORD 0. Helpful Hints: ­ If you insert recordings between existing recordings, check the lengths of the old and new recordings. If the new recording is too long the subsequent recording (title/chapter) will be overwritten. ­ The length of recording available depends on the current recording mode and the amount of space available on the disc. TIPS: To play a DVD+R on other DVD players, see "Playing your recording on other DVD players (DVD+R) 39 001-070_xRV645_Eng02 39 11/07/2005, 01:02 PM Recording (cont'd) Direct recording The Direct Record function allows you to record the TV programme which you are currently watching when the DVD recorder is turned off. Deleting a recording You can delete a specific recording from the DVD+R(W). English 1 Insert a recorded DVD+RW or an unfinalised DVD+R. The Index Picture screen or disc content menu appears on the TV. 1 Turn on the { Direct record } mode in the recording setting (see page 38). 2 On the TV, select the programme number you want to record. 2 Use 1 2 3 4 to select an entry in the menu. 3 With the DVD recorder turned off, press RECORD 0. The system will compare the selected TV channel on the TV set with its stored TV channels. If the same TV channel is found, it switches the DVD recorder to the corresponding programme number and starts recording. 3 Press the matching colour coded button on the remote control to select { Delete }. G To delete all the recordings, see pages 54 "Accessing to the Preferences options Disc" and select { Delete all }. 4 To stop recording, press STOP 9. Helpful Hint: ­ Do not change channels during the search, this could affect the tuning of the DVD recorder.
