Once displayed, press INTERNET, 4 to receive the following display (see below). & Tip ­ as a shortcut, you can go to this display by pressing STORE. Type in your chosen name for this favourite entry (see example right): (Use !DEL to delete any unwanted text. ) If you choose a name you've used before, the previous favourite entry will be overwritten by the new favourite. (The page will then be re-displayed. ) l 4. At this point you can select any new link, go back to the previous page or go to a new address. You can also go to any other favourite that you've stored (see page 83). You can use the above display to check a page address ­ if you press STORE on any page, its address will be shown directly underneath Add Favourite at the top of the display. After checking the address, press STOP to go back to the page itself. - 81 - Surfing the internet Storing favourite page addresses Use this procedure if you wish to add known page addresses to the favourites list without displaying them. This is a quicker way of storing lots of favourite addresses, and can be carried out offline. Type in your chosen name for this favourite entry, for example: Word for Today Note, choosing a previously used name will overwrite the old favourite. 4. Use U D and SELECT to highlight and select %Internet (web page) or %Mobile Internet (low-graphics page). 8. If you wish to store any more favourite addresses, repeat steps 2 to 6. Here you can select links to subjects such as news, travel, sport, etc as well as links to Amstrad and PlusZone* ­ the club for e-m@iler users. You can communicate live with other users in Amschat's chatrooms, or post your own message, advert or newsletter on the message board. If you've never used a chatroom before, it's a simple way of having an online 'conversation'. You can talk to everybody in the room or send/receive personal messages to/from individuals. Q: A: - 158 - Reference information You may wish to cut-out and keep this section hidden: ( Removing all user PINs If you have forgotten your user PIN or Parental Lock code, the following procedure allows you to remove them all (in other words, reset them to 0000). Check that the message ALL PIN NUMBERS NOW RESET appears towards the bottom of the display ­ if it doesn't, then repeat step 2. After resetting all PINs, each user will have to set up a new PIN or Parental Lock code (if required). [. . . ]
