Having lots of old messages stored can severely restrict the amount of free memory available for new email, VoiceMail and Address Book entries. In particular, avoid storing email messages containing sound or graphics attachments. If you don't want sent messages to be stored as old email in future, see Advanced settings page 130. If you wish to limit the size of messages collected, see Advanced settings page 128. Note the e-m@iler's memory does not depend on mains power - all messages are stored permanently (until deleted). To read an old message stored on a Smart Media memory card (information on page 114), switch off the e-m@iler at the mains, insert the relevant card, then switch on again and repeat steps 1 to 3 of the previous procedure. 62 Email If MEMORY LOW - Delete old messages / email appears at the bottom of the display, use the previous procedure to delete any email you no longer require. If MEMORY LOW - Card is write-protected appears, switch off the e-m@iler and check the memory card (see page 114). Printing !If you've connected a printer to the e-m@iler (as shown on page 115), you can print email messages as well as fax messages, Address Book entries and call log listings. & Note you cannot print an email, SMS or fax message while it is being composed. 2. Check that it is connected properly and repeat steps 2 and 3. 63 Email Note that graphics attachments (such as pictures) cannot be printed other than by forwarding the email message to a fax machine (information on page 86). If you are printing a long document, you may be able to abort printing before the end by pressing STOP. & During printing, some e-m@iler functions may not operate wait for printing to finish. Your printer should be configured to the ISO-8859-15 (Latin 9) character set. Note that many printers have a set of switches that control the character set it uses. Your printer's user manual should explain how to change to this configuration. & Printers produced prior to 1999 may not be able to reproduce some international characters such as the Euro symbol (in which case ISO-8857-1(Latin 1) is the next best alternative). If you find that certain characters (such as £) are not printed correctly, try setting the e-m@iler to an alternative character set (for information see Advanced settings page 138). Note in some cases you may find that certain symbols are replaced by their nearest alternative (for example OE may be printed as O). 64 Email Text memos !FAST TRACK: Press EMAIL, leave To: box blank, type in subject and message, press EMAIL again.
