[. . . ] A traditional 1" driver, the model 800/900 drivers have 1. 75" voicecoils* and can reproduce frequencies up to 20kHz. [. . . ] When installed on medium and larger horns, they can also reproduce down to 500Hz. Adapters once were available to install these drivers on horns with 1. 4" and 2" throats. All models of the 604 and 800/900 series Altec Lansing drivers have interchangeable 1. 75" voice-coil diaphragm assemblies. The aluminum and Pascalite diaphragms are all metal (original Pascalite diaphragms have "909" silkscreened on the dome). The "Pascalite" diaphragm has the sonic quality of the aluminum diaphragm and handles twice as much power.
