Manual abstract: user guide ALPINE MRV-F303

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] When problems occur such as a lack of sound or video, foreign objects inside the unit, smoke coming out, or noxious odors, stop use immediately and contact the dealer where you bought the equipment. Operating the equipment may distract the driver from looking ahead of the vehicle and cause accident. Always stop the vehicle in a safe location before operating this equipment. Route the cables and wiring so as not to be crimped by moving parts or make contact with sharp or pointed spots which might damage the wiring. [. . . ] Locate the unit and route the leads at least 10 cm away from the car harness. ⷠKeep the battery power leads as far away from other leads as possible. ⷠConnect the ground lead securely to a bare metal spot (remove the coating if necessary) of the car chassis. ⷠIf you add an optional noise suppressor, connect it as far away from the unit as possible. Your Alpine dealer carries various Alpine noise suppressors, contact them for further information. ⷠYour Alpine dealer knows best about noise prevention measures so consult your dealer for further information. 1 RCA Subwoofer Input Jacks (CH-5) (MRV-F353 only) 2 RCA Input Jacks Connect these jacks to the line out leads on your head unit using RCA extension cables (sold separately). Be sure to observe correct channel connections; Left to Left and Right to Right. (Front to Front and Rear to Rear (except for MRVT503/MRV-T303)) 3 Pre-Out Jacks (MRV-F303 only) These jacks provide a Front + Rear summed output (Non-fading). Do not use the speaker () terminals as a common lead between the left and right channels. 6 Insulation Tube 7 Battery Lead (Yellow) Be sure to add a 5 50 amp fuse (or two 25A fuses in parallel) as close as possible to the battery's positive (+) terminal. This fuse will protect your vehicle's electrical system in case of a short circuit. If you need to extend this lead, the wire gauge should be 8 AWG or larger. 20A amp fuse 8 Remote Turn-On Lead (Blue/White) Connect this lead to the remote turn-on or power antenna (positive trigger, (+) 12V only) lead of your head unit. 9 Ground Lead (Black) Connect this lead securely to a clean, bare metal spot on the vehicle's chassis. Verify this point to be a true ground by checking for continuity between that point and the negative () terminal of the vehicle's battery. Ground all your audio components to the same point on the chassis to prevent ground loops. Speaker Input Leads (Except for MRV-F353) These leads are input leads for use with head units not equipped with preamp outputs. When not using the RCA Line Input connectors, you should connect these wires to the speaker output leads of your head unit. The MRV-F353/MRV-F303/MRV-T503/MRVT303 accepts input from high power or standard power head units. B Cautions on wire lead connections When using third-party wire cables (power supply cord), use the supplied hex screws and the hex wrench to simplify the connection. If you are in doubt about how to make this connection, consult your dealer. [. . . ] the CHST 1+2 1 (or CH-2) input will output at the Speaker Output Terminal CH-1 (or CH-2). B) Set to the "1" position when the two channels are used for one channel of a stereo ST 1+2 bridged system. C) Set to the "1 + 2" position when the two channels are used for a subwoofer sysST 1+2 tem which uses the right channel and left channel signals summed. Input Mode Selector Switch a) Set to the "ST" position (center) when the two channels are used in stereo. [. . . ]
