[. . . ] Playing an MD while driving on a very bumpy road may result in skips, but this will not damage the changer. Before inserting a new MD use your finger to feel around the outer edge of the MD cartridge. Inserting an MD with bumps could severely damage the changer mechanism. When operating the unit for the first time after installation or after the vehicle's battery has been disconnected and reconnected, press the OPEN button and open the display panel. With the head lights of the vehicle ON, setting the illumination control of the vehicle to ON decreases the illumination brightiness of the unit. If the illumination is too bright during the night, set the Illumination control of the unit to ON. You can adjust the contrast of the display (brighter or darker) for better visivility.
