Bass Engine Function Setting the Bass Engine The following steps 1 to 6 are common operations to each "Setting item" of bass engine Setup. Refer to each section for details. MX (Media Xpander) makes vocals or instruments sound distinct regardless of the music source. The level of the audio source can be adjusted. Setting items BASS MAX EQ / P-EQ / BASS FOCUS / T. CORR (TIME CORRECTION) / X-OVER / SUBWOOFER 5 6 MX CD (OFF, CD MX 1 to 3) The large quantity of uncompressed CD data is processed to reproduce the sound with more clarity. Adjusting and Storing/Recalling the Parametric EQ The frequency bands of the graphic equalizer are fixed. This makes it very difficult to correct for undesired peaks and dips at specific frequencies. The parametric equalizer's center frequency can be tuned to these specific frequencies. Then, the bandwidth (Q) and level are fine-tuned, independently, to make the necessary corrections. The parametric equalizer function is an advanced tool for serious audiophiles. Setting item: P-EQ · Touching outside the range for a selected band will move the active bar to a band where the touched position can be adjusted. SET number remain undeleted despite a following reset operation or disconnection of the battery power cord. · Adjusted/set contents of each setting item in Bass Engine can be stored in the preset buttons (1 through 6). Center Frequency HIGH : MID-HIGH : MID-LOW : LOW : 10kHz, 12. 5kHz, 15kHz 500Hz, 700Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 6kHz 100Hz, 150Hz, 200Hz 40Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz Recalling the Adjusted and Stored Contents Following operation is performed after Step 3 above. · This function is inoperable when Defeat is set to ON. 38-EN About the Time Correction The distance between the listener and the speakers in a car vary widely due to the special conditions of the mobile environment. This difference in the distances from the speakers to the listener creates a shift in the sounds image and frequency characteristics. This is caused by the time delay between the sound reaching the listener's right versus left ear. [. . . ] Output Connector If this connector is connected to the optional Amplifier Link compatible monaural Amplifier, connect this to the optional Amplifier Link Box, and output the Amplifier Link control signal. Ai-NET Connector Connect this to the output or input connector of other product (CD changer, Equalizer, iPod adapter*, etc. ) equipped with Ai-NET. For details on connection, refer to the Owner's Manual of the KCA420i. Battery Lead (Yellow) Connect this lead to the positive (+) post of the vehicle's battery. Front input/output Terminal Use when connecting an amplifier or Equalizer. Fuse Holder (10A) Ground Lead (Black) Connect this lead to a good chassis ground on the vehicle. Make sure the connection is made to bare metal and is securely fastened using the sheet metal screw provided. Rear input/output Terminal Use when connecting an amplifier or Equalizer. Subwoofer output Terminal Connect the input lead of an amplifier for the subwoofer to this terminal. Remote Control Output Lead (White/Brown) Connect this lead to the remote control input lead. This lead outputs the controlling signals from the remote control. Remote Turn-On Lead (Blue/White) Connect this lead to the remote turn-on lead of your amplifier or signal processor. Remote Control Input Lead (White/Brown) Connect the external Alpine product to the remote control output lead. Power Antenna Lead (Blue) Connect this lead to the +B terminal of your power antenna, if applicable. Reverse Lead (Orange/White) Use only when a back-up camera is connected. [. . . ]
