When drilling holes in the chassis for installation, take precautions so as not to contact, damage or obstruct pipes, fuel lines, tanks or electrical wiring. dO NOT USE BOLTS OR NUTS IN THE BRAKE OR STEERING SYSTEMS TO MAKE GROUND CONNECTIONS. [. . . ] Moisture or dust that penetrates into this unit may result in product failure. CAUTION: Do not allow any of the vehicle's cable to come into contact with the unit. If a cable touches the unit, the constant vibration of the vehicle's movement can cause the insulation to wear out. Connections G The CHM-S630 CD Shuttle is not equipped with builtin control unit and power amplifier. Consult your authorized Alpine dealer for connections of your control unit and power amplifier. NOTE: The CHM-S630 is designed for 12-volt DC negative ground operation so make sure that your vehicle has this system before making electrical connections. 1 8-pin DIN Connector Connect this to your control unit or changer control input of your Alpine Shuttle-ready head unit. to prevent external noise from entering the audio system · Locate the unit and route the leads at least 10 cm away from the car harness. Keep the battery power leads as far away from other leads as possible. Connect the ground lead securely to a bare, metal spot of the car's chassis. If you add an optional noise suppressor, connect it as far away from the unit as possible. Your Alpine dealer carries various Alpine noise suppressors, contact them for further information. Your Alpine dealer knows best about noise prevention measures so consult your dealer for further information. You can play CD-Rs (CD-Recordable)/CD-RWs (CD-ReWritable) for audio use on this unit. Some of the following CDs may not play on this unit: Flawed CDs, CDs with fingerprints, CDs exposed to extreme temperatures or sunlight (e. , left in the car or this unit), CDs recorded under unstable conditions, CDs on which a recording failed and a re-recording was attempted. Heat and humidity may damage the CD and you may not be able to play it again.
