Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] USER MANUAL MANUAL ROAD SAFETY INFORMATION Road traffic laws, the Highway Code and traffic conditions must be observed and respected at all times and take precedence over any instructions or directions given by your Gizmondo Navigator GPS Navigation system. You are responsible for controlling your vehicle (or other means of transport) and you MUST exercise proper control of your vehicle (or other means of transport) at ALL times. For safety reasons it is important that you key in your destination and set up your trip on your Gizmondo Navigator GPS Navigation system whilst your vehicle (or other means of transport) is stationary BEFORE starting your journey. Do NOT handle your Gizmondo Navigator GPS Navigation system whilst driving or supervising a provisional driving licence holder. [. . . ] Perfect for situations in which traffic has suddenly slowed ahead of you, the Divert Feature will generate an alternate route. You can then make an informed decision about whether you're better off driving through the delay or taking the new route. Use the D-pad to navigate the menu bar in the left hand side of the screen. Select the Divert icon when you want to take an alternate route to avoid specific roads due to construction work, heavy traffic etc. 1. To see an alternate route, use the D-Pad to scroll down to the Divert icon. If you decide not to use the new route, use the D-Pad to return to the Divert menu. Gizmondo Navigator will then return you to your original route. -21- MANUAL Selective Routing Gizmondo Navigator allows you to be selective about the roads you take on your trip. There are two ways to do this: 1) you can customise your Trip Itinerary in Guidance Mode so that Gizmondo Navigator will avoid certain roads; or 2) you can guide Gizmondo Navigator's route by entering stops as "waypoints". Avoiding a Road in the Trip Itinerary 1. Select the Itinerary icon from the menu bar in the left hand side of the screen. Use the rewind and fast forward buttons to move the tick up and down in the check boxes, in the left hand side column, to select a specific road you want to avoid. Simultaneously, use the D-pad to select the Divert icon and choose the Avoid Road option from the Divert menu. If there is no other possible road or if the alternate route is too impractical, a new route won't be generated. Repeat steps 2-3 above to avoid other roads listed in the Itinerary. 4. To Return to the Original Route: You can return to the original route that Gizmondo Navigator gave you at any time by tapping the Allow Road icon from the Divert menu. Tailoring Your Route Using Waypoints Gizmondo Navigator lets you customize a route by designating some stops as "waypoints". Waypoints appear on the Itinerary but they're not treated like stops in Guidance Mode and or in routing instructions. You can enter a waypoint along a road you want Gizmondo Navigator to use, and Gizmondo Navigator will guide you through the waypoint toward your destination. To designate a place as a waypoint, enter it as a stop in the Going To screen. Using the D-Pad, highlight the location on the Going To list, press Select/ Accept, choose Set as Waypoint from the dialogue box displayed. Waypoints appear on the Going To list preceded by ">>" instead of a stop number. To turn the location into a stop again, repeat and choose Set as Stop. You can set as many waypoints as you like on a trip; however, Gizmondo Navigator will always recognise the last address in the Going To list as a stop. -22- MANUAL Modes Menu Gizmondo Navigator has three modes of operation on the Gizmondo device. Use the D-pad to navigate to the bottom of the menu bar in the left hand side of the screen.
