Client Bridge (Infrastructure): Enables you to establish a wireless connection to an Access Point. Client Bridge (AdHoc): Enables you to directly communicate with other wireless clients without the need of Access Point. Note The performance of your wireless network, however, will decrease considerably as the number of AdHoc devices on your network increases. · Repeater Extends the range of an existing Access Point. The appearance of this page will differ depending on your SpeedTouchTM operation mode: Use the LAN Settings page to configure the LAN IP address. In Access Point Mode, you may choose to use a static address or to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server. Lan Settings page Note The device will automatically start up with its default static IP address, 10. 0. 0. 140. The LAN links page allows you to configure: · AP Name: DNS name of the access point. (This naming feature is optional. ) Note · Do not use spaces in the AP name. Note This field will not be shown in Client Bridge mode. If you choose to configure the SpeedTouchTM180 statically two additional fields become available: · · IP address: The IP Address of the SpeedTouchTM180. Subnet Mask: The subnet mask of the network. Click Basic Setting to set the channel, Service Set ID (SSID), and transmit speed for your wireless network. The wireless settings are listed in the table below. Parameter Enable Wireless Networking Channel Description Enables/disables wireless networking. The radio channel used for the SpeedTouchTM to communicate with the wireless clients. The SpeedTouchTM will automatically assign itself a radio channel, or you may select one manually. This should be set to the same value as other wireless devices on your network. The SSID is case sensitive and can consist of up to 32 alphanumeric characters. By default the SpeedTouchTM180 broadcasts its Network Name (SSID) to the WLAN clients. WLAN clients using this broadcast SSID or using an empty SSID can join the SpeedTouchTM180. [. . . ] Some of the problems you may encounter are: · · · One of the panel indicators is off Troubleshooting Chart Problem SpeedTouchTM180 does not work (none of the LEDs light up) Action Make sure that the SpeedTouchTM is plugged into a power socket outlet. Make sure that you are using the correct power supply for your SpeedTouchTM device. Make sure that the LAN cable are securely connected to the 10/100Base-T port. Make sure that you are using the correct cable type for your Ethernet equipment. [. . . ]
