[. . . ] The Alcatel-Lucent Digital Media Store simplifies the rollout and evolution of digital media services such as e-book and application stores. With this managed hosted service, fixed and mobile service providers can cost effectively deliver unified digital media services across networks and devices. [. . . ] For example, a single song and its associated metadata can be used for premium download services on mobile and broadband as well as be included in a programmed streaming music service for mobile, broadband and TV. Providing all content services from a single service eliminates content silos, streamlines operations and enables fast development of cross-screen multimedia services. Because the Alcatel-Lucent Digital Media Store enables delivery of both traditional and new, high-bandwidth media across all screens, it also helps to maximize revenue from existing content. With the hosted and managed Alcatel-Lucent Digital Media Store service providers are ready for rapid deployment with low upfront investment and reduced risk. Alcatel-Lucent Digital Media Store 3 serviCe ComponenTs The Alcatel-Lucent Digital Media Store is based on the Alcatel-Lucent Multi-Screen Foundation, a unique unified framework that brings all of the enablers required to build payment services. The Digital Media Store integrates the capabilities of the: g Alcatel-Lucent 5920 Multimedia Content Manager g Alcatel-Lucent 5910 Mobile Streaming Server deliver the right mix of retail and wholesale services The service enables service providers to take advantage of the capabilities offered by the Alcatel-Lucent Application Enablement strategy to securely expose their assets to the content and media industry in a managed and controlled way. It also provides a ready-made end-to-end application ecosystem, with DMS as the publishing suite within the Alcatel-Lucent Developer Program. With this approach, service providers can augment their role in the content value chain and collaborate with a larger application ecosystem.
