This large-diaphragm condenser microphone has been designed on the basis of experience AKG and its customers have gained worldwide over decades using AKG's well-known studio microphones. [. . . ] A dual wire-mesh grille and other design features provide effective protection against electrostatic and electromagnetic interference from the various monitors used in advanced or automatically controlled radio studios. In addition to high sound level capability and minimum distortion as well as temperature and humidity resistant construction, the microphone features a cardioid polar pattern specifically optimized for the kind of close-up usage typical of broadcast work. Announcer microphone for radio studios where ruggedness, excellent sound, high SPL capability, low proximity effect, and maximum resistance to electrostatic and electromagnetic interference from CRT displays in automated studios are paramount. The microphone has its sound entry on the front so you can place it optimally right in front of the announcer's mouth without obstructing his/her vision.
