" The Calculate Tempo window closes, and the "Current tempo" parameter on the BPM Match window indicates the calculated value. 5 Select the "New tempo" parameter, then use the JOG dial to specify the new tempo. The "Preset" and "Adjust" parameters are the same as those for the Pitch Shift function (see page 35). 8 Press "DO IT. " Renaming Samples You can rename the selected Sample as follows. 1 Select the Sample name in the upper-left corner of the TRIM, LOOP or , REGION page, then press the WINDOW button. The Sample window appears, as shown below. Name: This is the name of the selected Sample. See "Entering Names" on page 17 for more information on using the Name window. Original note: This determines the note at which the selected Sample plays at its original pitch. Tune: This allows you to fine-tune the pitch of the Sample in semitone and cent steps. Size: This is the size of the selected Sample in kilobytes. Copying Samples Samples can be copied as follows. 1 While the Sample you wish to copy is selected for the "Name" parameter in the Sample window (shown above), press "COPY. " The Copy Sample window appears, as shown below. Sample: This is the name of the selected Sample. New name: Enter a name for the new Sample here by rotating the JOG dial. See "Entering Names" on page 17 for more information. 2 Press "DO IT. " The Sample is copied. Z4/Z8 User Guide--Version 1. 0 Deleting Samples 47 Deleting Samples You can delete individual, tagged, or all Samples as follows. 1 In the Sample window shown on page 46, press "DELETE. " The Delete Sample window appears, as shown below. 2 Make sure that the "Sample" parameter indicates the Sample you wish to delete. Otherwise, use the JOG dial to select a Sample you wish to delete. 3 To delete only the selected Sample, press "DO IT. " To delete all Samples, press "ALL. " To delete only the tagged Sample, press "TAGGED. " To cancel the operation, press "CANCEL. " If you pressed "DO IT, " the selected Sample is deleted. If you pressed "ALL, " the Delete ALL Samples window appears, as shown below. Press "DO IT. " All Samples in memory are deleted. If you pressed "TAGGED, " the Delete Tagged Samples window appears, as shown below. Press "DO IT. " Only the tagged Samples in memory are deleted. Adding Samples to Programs Samples selected in the Sample window can be added to Programs as follows. 1 While the Sample name is selected in the Sample window (page 46), press "TO PGM" to open the Add to Program window. See "Adding Samples to Programs" on page 47 for information on using the Add to Program window. See page 67 for information on using Multi mode. Selecting Programs Programs can be selected for playing and editing as follows. The MAIN page for Keygroup Programs is shown below. The MAIN page for Drum Programs is shown below. 2 Select the Program name, and then use the JOG dial to select a Program. Only Programs already in memory can be selected. To select a Program stored on a storage device, you must load it first. New Programs, or Programs that have been edited, have an asterisk next to their name if they have not yet been saved, as shown below. See "Saving" on page 84 for information on saving Programs. To tag a Program, select the Program name in the upper-left corner, press and hold the SHIFT button, and then press "TAG, " as shown below.
