Finally, click the Apply button to activate and save the modifications. 23 2. 5 Trunk The Ether-2416W web smart switch supports MAC-based trunking, which allows more than one port to be grouped together as a single link connection between two switch devices. This is also useful for switch-to-server and switch-to-router applications. The Ether-2416W web smart switch allows four trunk groups that can accommodate up to eight trunk members. A port in one trunk group cannot be a member of another trunk simultaneously. This feature provides redundancy and increases the effective bandwidth through a link. The traffic patterns can be more balanced between the ports within a trunk group by dynamically performing the MAC-based algorithm.
