[. . . ] Directions Ltd Using Navigator 40 Keeping the GPS icon on screen When a GPS signal is received your position will be automatically displayed on the map. To keep your position always on screen select Tools/GPS/Centre GPS from the menu. One unique feature that navigator has, is the ability to rotate the map as you drive. This way your driving direction is always towards the top of the screen which makes the map easier to read. To enable/disable this feature select Tools/GPS/Rotate map from the menu. To reset the map to north up select Tools/Reset map rotation to north up from the menu. 2. 7 2. 7. 1 Exporting to PDA Exporting from Navigator To export maps from Navigator to Pocket PC device (ARM only) select Tools/Export to PDA from the © 2004 . . . The following option dialog will appear. Here you can select what type of export you wish to perform. Exporting a map Select the type of region you want to cut out and export. There are three choices: rectangular - cut out a rectangular/square region of the map elliptic - cut out an oval/circular region of the map polygonal - cut out in irregular, user defined region. Note that all the layers have sub layers which can be selected/deselected individually. Click Next to continue. Enter where you want the data to be exported to and what you want the map to be called (Map name). © 2004 . . . Navigator will now display the progress of the export You can cancel the process at any time by clicking Cancel. If successful you should see, Click Finish and copy the maps to your PDA. © 2004 . . . Directions Ltd Using Navigator 44 Exporting a route Here you have two choices: found route and its route corridor - exports the navigation data for the route selected below and a user defined map area either side of the route. found route only - exports the navigation data only for the route selected below. If you are exporting a route and map then you will now be shown the layer selection dialog. This dialog lets you select which map layers you want to export. Note that all the layers have sublayers which can be selected/deselected individually. Directions Ltd 45 Navigator 4. 0 Help Enter where you want the data to be exported to, what you want the map to be called (Map name) and a name for the navigation data (Navigation name). Please note that if you have selected to export a route only then the Map name will not be shown. You are lost when you are X meters away from route - after you stray more than the set distance (in meters) you will get a 'You are lost' warning.
