On some hip designs the scale and minor defect removal step may be the only coated abrasive step. However, it may be followed by a Scotch-BriteTM Wheel or blast media to achieve the final finish. Using 3MTM TrizactTM CF Belt for defect removal and scratch refinement as necessary will provide longer life and a high quality, more consistent finish than conventional coated abrasives. 3M Trizact CF Belt in grades A160 and A100 will typically be used on hip stems in the scale or minor defect removal application.
